On 8th May, 2015, the Board of Directors of Uganda Free Zones Authority was inaugurated by the Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Hon Matia Kasaija. The Board is the policy making organ of the Authority as stipulated in the Free Zones Act, 2014 section 7.
The Board was chosen from a wide spectrum of stakeholders from both the private and public sectors. The Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson are from the Private sector while other Board members are representatives from the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives, the Uganda Investment Authority, the Uganda Land Commission and the Uganda Revenue Authority.
